1. Grace is  a 18 year old high school dropout, she works at a grimy bar in downtown New York where she’s a bartender. She lives alone in a one bedroom apartment above a laundromat, round the corner from the bar she works at. Grace fell out with her parents after she fell pregnant at 17, they told her she needed to get rid of the baby and go back to school but she wouldn’t listen. She packed her stuff and got on the next buss going into the City. A few months later while working at her first job, a customer pushed her down a flight of stairs claiming he was doing her a favour and getting “the demon” out of her. She was rushed to the ER but sadly lost the baby. She left her job and tried to find somewhere new but the only place that was hiring was worse. It had bars on the windows because it used to be the  pharmacy for the asylum. She got put on the worst shifts, 8pm to 3am. She became nocturnal. After working there a while she started to notice things, people. Some of the usual's from the place she used to work at started coming in, everyday. They seemed to be friends with the owner, but they would only come in on her shifts. She didn’t think much of it and just carried on as normal… until one day, Grace goes to leave work but an unfamiliar man grabs her arm and tells her to wait. In a panic she smashes the heavy whisky glass on the table over his head and runs out the back as fast as she can. She gets in her car and drives back to her apartment, as she pulls up she can see the light on through the window. Her body is frozen with fear, her hands gripping the wheel for dear life. She just sat there as tears welled up in her eyes and her eyes stayed locked on that window.

2. Max is a 17, since he was little his dad John had always been aggressive and abusive toward him, his little sister Lily and his mum June. He was 4 years older than his sister and has always tried to look out for her. One night his dad comes home drunk, stumbles through the door holding a bottle of beer in one hand and his car keys in the other. It was only seven o’clock but he must’ve thought it was later. He screamed at Lily  at the top of his lungs, telling her it was too late for her to be up and that she needed to go to her room. She tried to talk back and explain to him she was only doing her homework and that her mum said it was fine. He raised his hand and wacked her round the face with the bottle in his hand, she fell to the floor screaming in pain. The glass shattered everywhere, her face was covered in blood and she was shaking with fear. Max and his mother both try to pull him off her, but he grabs Junes arm, squeezes it as hard as he can in the same spot as usual until she falls to the floor. She pulls the sleeve up on her blouse as a tear rolls down her cheek to reveal a entirely blue and purple arm.  Max slams him against the wall and smashes his head into the wooden door frame. His dad falls to the ground and Max assumes its all over. His dad grabs a shard of glass from the floor and stands up, Max doesn’t see it until he has it up against Lilys throat. He tells her to stop crying or he will kill her but she cant help it.  In his paranoid state the only thing he felt he could do was commit suicide, but only after killing her first, the jagged shard of glass was pressed against her throat as max and her mum screamed for mercy, Max picked up a heavy iron rod from the fire place and held it behind his back. Lily lets out a final word of mercy toward her father before he pulls the jagged shard of glass across her throat, and dropping her to the floor to bleed out. He puts the glass to his own throat but before he could end it all Max hits him over the head, resulting in him falling to the floor and laying there unconscious. His mother June calls for the police and an ambulance as she watches  Max drive the metal rod into his dads chest as he let out a gasp.

But when he realises there is  a PI sniffing around, his morals change. He wants Devon out of the picture before he can get any proof to prove his innocence.
